Startup Validation ✅
👋 Welcome!
Validating your startup idea quickly is critical, so you don’t end up burning too many resources and losing time. I found this insightful Medium post from last August written by Tatyana for Zeroqode on how to validate a startup idea in one week. As we have all experienced, many ideas just come to you like a flash of light. The key is to make sure these ideas are solving a problem that someone will pay for. You could either begin by interviewing some potential customers and get feedback on your idea. Does it solve their problem? Would they pay? Or, if it “is something truly novel that you think would bring unique value as opposed to alleviating an existing pain point, you could skip this step, and build a quick prototype.” Either way, you first need to define the problem you want to solve. 🚀 Maker News
Homeschooling
Online education is exploding. In their latest thread, Exploding Topics looks at homeschooling in the US, where approximately 3.4% of school children are homeschooled each year. One such company is Outschool, which recently raised $1.4M. Outschool offers over 15,000 online classes and they charge on a flexible class-by-class basis instead of a flat monthly fee. This way, parents can test how the classes operate for a low cost, producing less friction to signup and giving Outschool the funds to hire more teachers and enrol more students. Customer Support
A great Growth Bite by Indie Hackers on Customer Support. We have read again and again how customer support can impact retention but is also immensely time-consuming. A way to solve this is by developing a three-layer support sequence that reduces support load, saving valuable time and energy while at the same time improving customer satisfaction. Great customer support and satisfaction, will build a strong and valuable community around your product or service. Read how it’s done.
💭 Afterthought
To finish the day a great thread by KP on what pissed him off when starting out as a Maker. As difficult as it may be, everybody starts from zero. As KP concludes, “believe in the power of compound interest. Fail often. But don’t quit.” The important thing is to “play the long game, enjoy what you do, be curious and share in public.” if you stick to this, you’ll become a prolific Maker in due time! Read the full thread. Take care and see you tomorrow.
