Public, Failure, Fast, Resource, Bloom
☕ Good Morning!
To kick off the day, a brief article from Mental Nodes by Anne-Laure Le Cunff. It emphasizes that the best way to learn is to build in public and “tap into your network's collective intelligence to create constructive feedback loops”. Many Makers now work as Open Startups, sharing their progress, and actively seeking feedback. The article goes on to quote Reid Hoffman, who stated: “If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you've launched too late.” Read the full post here.
🚀 Maker Stories
Pieter Levels shares an article by @thedannorris where, based on his failures, he lists nine signs to watch out for that will show that your business idea will fail. He also explains why its sometimes OK to give up and move on, before being drained by something which isn’t going to lift off. Of his 50 business and ideas he’s alunched in the past 14 years, only 3 have lead to success. So if you can capture what works and doesn’t work at an early stage, you might save a lot of time. Levels expands on the 50/3 assumption in his Twitter thread.
