Guide, Rabbit, Solution, Automate, Build
Good morning! I hope it’s been a positive week for you all, without any lockdown catastrophes and with good learnings, new connections, and building! I missed the following guide published by First Round earlier this month with some great advice crowdsourced from startups leaders, CEOs, and investors, some of whom mastered previous downturns and recessions such as the dot.com crash and the financial crisis. It’s a longer read, but a great resource to review over the weekend. Read the full post here.
🌐 Makers
Jens Lennartsson and Micahel Gill have launched an exciting new project: RabbiRabbit. It’s a newsletter referral program that they say will fit into your existing mailing list platform. Reminds me a little of Morning Brew, probably one of the best and most successful newsletter referral programs. Learn more about the Morning Brews referral programme and join the waitlist at RabbitRabbit to stay in the loop.
I recently mentioned Oscar Arevalo, who launched componentsui.com, a collection of pre-built components you can use for the easy-to-use carrd.co website builder. He also published a good Medium post where he recounts his journey from ideation, to product build and finally launching. You can read the full story here and if interested, you can buy get product with a 20% discount using the code springup. Enjoy!
🌐 Ideas, Trends
A poignant short article by Brandon Clapp on Indie Hackers, that ideas don’t solve problems, solutions solve problems. So get out there and find those problems. Read the full post here.
Some great advice by Yoromie, for all solo makers and founders who are facing the current challenges alone. There are some great online communities to join, where you can interact with others and help is offered. A few are listed in the tweet below.
🌐 Build, Launch, Monetise
Mentioned bubble yesterday, a #NoCode platform where you can build and host web applications. They are offering build and launch bootcamps, where they will guide you through prototype, test, iteration, and launch. It’s a 6-week course for $750 and with a max of 8 seats per class. Learn more here.
I’ve been studying Zapier and Integromat (especially in conjunction with Webflow and Airtable) these past few days and also want to start looking at Parabola, a further automation platform. They have just released 7 educational videos showing you how to use and get more out of their visual drag-and-drop builder.
Wishing you all a great weekend, whether building away or spending time with the family. And in the words of Ricky Moranis:
