Audio, Write, Convert 🔈
👋 Welcome!
Social audio apps are the talk of the town. Whether that be the much-discussed startup Clubhouse or the new Twitter audio feature. In her latest newsletter, Marie Dollé has done a deep dive into this booming industry and mapped out the current landscape. She classifies them into four categories. 1) Audio extensions for traditional social networks like Facebook's and Twitter. 2) Audio chat apps focused on gaming like Discord. 3) Social audio apps focused on B2C or B2B customers like Cappucino.fm 4) Social audio apps that drive “social discovery” like Clubhouse. The rise of the audio format can be in part attributed to the popularity in podcasts, which 75% of Americans are now familiar with. Read the full newsletter.

💭 Afterthought
The following Tweet by Harry Stebbings reminds me of Bill Gurley’s words at McCombs School of Business about embracing peers in your field. “It's about connecting with the people that you have the most overlap with because you'll be able to help each other along the way, along the journey.” Take care and see you tomorrow.
